There is arguably no debate in the Church more heated than that between
the theologies of Calvinism and Armenianism.
It is easy to see why. The scope
of each is extensive, covering everything from the definition of “free will” to
the definition of “omniscience”. Can any
conclusion be drawn to reconcile the debate?
I think that there is. But first,
we ought to put on the table just what Calvinism and Armenianism are, and, more
importantly, what strengths and weaknesses they have.
